Zippel Bay State Park is currently seeking one part-time, seasonal Parks and Trails Associate.

Job duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the operation of Zippel Bay State Park to ensure visitor services, merchandise, information, and education, are available to the public as directed.
  • Act as the public information distribution point for park visitors, neighbors, local communities and public agencies.  This allows correct information about Zippel Bay State Park, Franz Jevne State Park, and Garden Island SRA to be given out.  Knowledge of the surrounding area must also be maintained and given out as requested.
  • To perform routine cleaning tasks at the contact station, office building, and grounds around these buildings as directed to ensure all are attractive, safe, sanitary, and operational for public use always.
  • To assure responsibility for safety and accountability for safety performance so that employees will perform tasks according to established safety procedures and reduce injuries and equipment damage.

Salary range for a Parks & Trails Associates is: $20.51-$26.16/hourly

The position will be 70%, part time. Consisting of a work schedule of 3, 8 hour days one week, and 4, 8 hour days the second week of a pay period. The anticipated season dates for the position is May through Labor Day each year, however, the actual season dates may start later or end earlier to meet contractual obligations or agency needs. Work hours vary, and will include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts will vary and will be discussed as part of the interview process.
