About the Role
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Summer Student to assist the Engineering Department in scanning and filing electronic documents. The ideal candidate will be responsible for organizing and converting paper documents into electronic format, ensuring that all files are accurately named, stored, and easily retrievable. This position provides an opportunity to gain valuable experience in an engineering environment while contributing to efficient document management practices.
As required, the Engineering Assistant will help prepare and maintain engineering documents, reports and records in relation to project management activities.
This is a temporary summer student position, expected to run from approximately the end of May through August. For ANI’s summer student opportunities, priority consideration is given to children of current ANI employees. If we are unable to fill all positions with eligible dependents, we will then consider other qualified candidates.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and be actively enrolled in a college, university, or other post-secondary educational program.

Position Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Document Scanning
Scan paper documents, drawings, and blueprints into electronic files using a multi-function printer/scanner.
Optimize image quality and ensure all scanned documents are clear and legible. - File Organization
Classify and organize scanned documents according to established filing systems (by project, date, or category).
Develop an efficient electronic filing structure to facilitate easy access to documents. - Data Entry
Accurately enter metadata for each scanned document, including title, date, author, and relevant keywords.
Ensure consistency in naming conventions and adherence to departmental filing procedures.
About You
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Basic understanding of project management principles.
- May require occasional lifting of equipment or materials.
- Candidates with a basic understanding of process equipment, GMPs, Master Control, SOPs, MMRs/MPRs, Cleaning and Use Logbooks and good documentation practices are preferred.
