Special Parking Restrictions & Road Closures to Accommodate July 4th Events

Press Release
The Baudette-Lake of the Woods Chamber of Commerce would like motorists to be aware of several parking restrictions and road closures that will be in place prior to and during the Fourth of July Celebration in Baudette.
• Two blocks of Main Avenue North from Highway 11 north to 2nd Street will be closed to all traffic and parking beginning at 1 a.m. in the early morning hours of July 4 by the Baudette Police Department. This portion of Main Avenue will remain closed until approximately 6 a.m. Wednesday, July 5. All cars must be removed from this specified area during those hours they will be subject to towing at the owner’s expense.
• One block of 1st Street SW on the south side of the Catholic Church will be closed to traffic the morning and early afternoon  of the 4th. This will allow for the safe line up of the kiddie parade. It will reopen once the main parade has ended around 3 p.m.
• There will be no parking on the Highway 11 Baudette Bay Bridge and the immediate area to the west and east through Tuesday, July 4 at noon. Parking will be allowed after noon on July 4. This is to allow for the safety of Firecracker 5K runners/walkers the morning of the Fourth. It will be posted.
• No parking on International Drive/Highway 72 North along the top of the Willie Walleye Park Hill all day Friday, July 4. It will be posted.
• The parade routes will be posted with no parking signs. Parking will be prohibited along the route before and during the parade.
• Motorists are asked to use extreme caution during the running of the Firecracker 5K. The route starts near the old school, travels south to Highway 11, crosses the Baudette Bay Bridge and then continues into areas of north east Baudette before entering Timber Mill Park. The 5K then continues west back along Highway 11 and ends in downtown Baudette on Main Avenue.
The route will be lined with volunteers helping direct traffic. The race begins at 9 a.m. and the last participants are usually off the route by around 10:30 a.m.
• Motorists are asked to stay off 5th Street in front of CHI LakeWood Health Center during the line up of the main parade from noon until 2 p.m.  Only vehicles registered in the parade should be on the road during that time. If you are dropping off parade participants, please do so from a block away. Keeping excess traffic off this road also makes it easier for ambulances and emergency vehicles to navigate into the hospital ER entrance.
• With everyone’s help and extra caution, we can make sure that the Fourth of July 2017 is a fun and SAFE holiday!

These stellar performers bring a wealth of musical experience and their unique sense of humor to every show.   But, above all, they truly love performing and do it with a contagious joy that will have you laughing and clapping right along with them.
Whether you love soulful ballads, blistering rock anthems, jazz standards or chart-topping singles…. or, perhaps you just love to laugh and have fun, then, you’re in for a treat with the hijinks & harmonies of The Sound Exchange.
The Sound Exchange will perform on Main Avenue at the Border State Bank Stage at noon, 4:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Texas Terry was also the lead opening act for Brooks and Dunn as part of their Neon Circus tour. With whips, ropes, guns, and lots of humor, Terry gets everybody involved in a comedy western show that is sure to make everybody smile and have a great time.

Buoy Project

The Lake of the Woods County Board of Commissioners sponsored a buoy project designed to mark the location of the northern-most point in the continental United States. The project was coordinated by the Edge Riders Snowmobile Club. The buoy is similar to the buoy icon located in Key West, Florida, the southern-most point in the continental U.S. The Angle Ladies Adventure Society, Logan Goulet, Adley Goulet, JoJo Goulet, Emma Goulet, Katie Carlson, Ava McKeever and leaders Sara Magoon and Bre Gjovik painted the buoy, which is located right off the shore of Lake of the Woods, between Jerry’s Restaurant and Young’s Bay Resort.
